Winds of the Lakeside Chamber Players at A.C.T. Studio Theatre

  • LAKESIDE CHAMBER PLAYERS is an established Florida chamber ensemble composed of professional, classically trained musicians. Our name came from the historic Lakeside Inn in Mount Dora, Florida, where Innkeepers Jim and Alexandra Gunderson have generously provided Lakeside Chamber Players with a home and public performance venue.
  • MARCO A. NAVARRETE - OBOE  International soloist Marco Navarrete is a graduate of the Harid Conservatory and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he was a student of John Dee, former Principal Oboe of the Florida Philharmonic Orchestra. While at the University of Illinois he received the Dr. Edmund Williams Award for Excellence in Oboe Performance following the University of Illinois Wind Symphony’s Carnegie Hall debut. He was also the Honorable Mention in the 2007 Krannert Center Debut Artist Recital Competition. Navarrete has performed throughout the United States, Mexico, Panama, El Salvador, and China under the batons of James Judd, Joseph Silverstein, Alfred Reed, James Keene, Xu Zhong and Ian Hobson. Other artists Mr. Navarrete has performed with include Mariah Carey, Lynn Roberts, Frank Sinatra Jr., Dennis DeYoung and STYX, The Indigo Girls, Nelly, and Bernadette Peters. Along with being active in the recording Studios of South Florida, Navarrete performed with the National Symphony of Panama as a guest soloist in 2014. An advocate of international musical relations, Navarrete has given masterclasses in Mexico, Panama, El Salvador, and China. Navarrete also is a recurring adjudicator for the Florida Youth Orchestra and the National Society of Arts and Letters Woodwind Competition. Currently, Mr. Navarrete is the Principal Oboe of the Symphony of the Americas and the oboe professor at the Boca Academy of Music.
  •  PETER WRIGHT - CLARINET  Peter Wright was principal clarinetist of the Jacksonville Symphony from 1975 to 2017. He currently teaches clarinet at the University of North Florida. A Florida native, Peter received his Bachelor of Music Education from Jacksonville University and Master of Music from the Eastman School of Music. He was a featured soloist with the Jacksonville Symphony numerous times and most recently performed Rossini’s “Introduction, Theme and Variations” as well as a world premiere composition written for him by Judith Cloud called “HiJinx!”. In 2005 he played the world premiere of Nikola Resanovic’s “Collateral Damage, A Concerto for Clarinet and Orchestra” with Fabio Mechetti conducting. In 2008 he performed the Mozart Clarinet Concerto on a basset clarinet provided by Buffet Crampon. In 2010 Peter Wright went to China as part of the faculty at the China International Clarinet and Saxophone Festival. He performed a feature solo recital at the International Clarinet Association’s annual convention, ClarinetFest, in July of 2017. He has also performed at numerous other ClarinetFests throughout the world including Sweden, Portugal and Italy, as well as in Atlanta, Vancouver, Kansas City, Austin, Los Angeles, Lincoln, and Baton Rouge. 
  •  JANET HARRIS - BASSOON  Janet is a highly innovative artist of dynamic style and robust sound. She currently holds the posts of Principal Bassoon with the Atlantic Classical Orchestra of Stuart, Vero Beach, Palm Beach Gardens; the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra of Punta Gorda; and Lakeside Chamber Players of Mount Dora, Florida.  She is a highly sought-after bassoonist and has performed with many orchestras across the region including The Florida Orchestra, the Orlando Philharmonic, the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra as well as the Alabama Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Harris has held faculty positions at The Conservatory of Music at Lynn University in Boca Raton (her alma mater formerly known as The Harid Conservatory of Music), Saint Petersburg College, Eckerd College, and Clearwater Christian College. She has also performed with orchestras, opera companies, chamber and solo recitals throughout the United States, South and Central America, the Caribbean and Russia.
